Trapped In the Closet?

Must I go- and empty handed

Must I meet my saviour so?
Not one soul with which to greet him
Must I empty handed go?
            -Ira D. Sankey

Maybe because it was a Sunday, maybe it was the hymn, or maybe I was simply declaring a stronger stance for God, I really don’t know why, but I had a strong urge to declare that I love Him, cos He has been super awesome and faithful, so I have no reason to be ashamed, besides the last time I checked it was still my blog…..my place….my space…my rules.
The lines above by Ira D. Sankey was taken from the Hymn book Sacred Songs and Solos, I have loved it since I was a kid, but it got me thinking if as Christians we were told by God that before we can make heaven, we have to come with a certain number of souls we have won for Christ, I bet we would be scurrying about like marketers trying to meet their targets.
But God is so wonderful and he gives us the freedom to make choices, He expects us to be so happy and overwhelmed at the prospect of being Christians that we just gladly spread the word.
He expects us to selflessly want people to partake of the joys of being Christians, but many of us are so uncertain of what we are entitled to as Christians, so we find it hard to even tell people of the benefits! I am not an innocent bystander, I am just as guilt-ridden as the next person.
I have been in lots of situations that I could have made a stand for Christ by speaking out, but failed to do so because I did not want to be thought of as a good-two-shoes. But why do we care so much about what other people think about us.
Anyway, it’s a new week, and I am going to try to be more set in my beliefs and proudly declare by my actions and my person that I may not be a fanatic, but i am PROUDLY CHRISTIAN!
This post might not generate much traffic, might not be as popular as my usual Rant N’ Rave, maybe no one will even leave a comment ,but I feel happy to be declaring myself a Christian, to let everyone know whose side I am on, I guess its about time we got out of the closet.
